Recently repaired a Marquee 8500 by installing a new CLM board. When i look at
the Hours of Usage i see.

With CRTs on: 43944
In Standby: 10263
Total 54207

Is this the hours on my projector or is it the hours on the projector the CLM board came from?
Is this information on a chip on the CLM board?
What chip?
If the hours of use is on a chip on the clm is it possible to take the chip out of the non-working board
and put it on the new one?

the hours are stored on the back-plane, not the CLM. REplacing tghe backplane requires stripping the PJ down to the very last board and screw, it's not worth doing. At 54K you have one of the highest hours marquee's ever and it shows ow well they are built. Most likely both power supplies have been replaced at some point and it's been re-tubed 4 or 5 times. I would check the video neck-boards and convergnce board to see if they need servicing.

Thanks for that info. I can hardly believe this projector has that many hours!
Thats why i thought the hours of service was on the clm. Ya the tubes must have been
changed a few times, currently look very good. Projector runs great.

Its ready to go another 54,000 hrs. Very Happy

Wow, if you do the math, that is equivalent to having the projector on 24 hours a day for over 6 years! (5 years with the crts on)
