hi there i have an nec xg110 and i'm wanting to order the hdmi 1.3 input unit from taiwan $450 usd (when they restock...sold out right now).
my question is, has anyone tried this product? and if so, what is your opinion on it.
also, is the hdfury2 adaptor any good? does anyone have any feedback...it is almost half the price of the taiwan product!
thanks

They are pretty well regarded... Check the Customer Testimonials on the For Sale page here... they are written by real forum members.

Welcome to the forum!
There are a few things to consider when buying any of these units. Probably the most important would be if you are planning on using any higher resolutions like 1080p you should plan on using either an HTPC or an external scaler. The short refresh times required at high resolutions on an XG are not compatible with standalone Blu-ray players or a PS3. An HTPC or scaler such as an Iscan VP50pro permit custom video timings will allow an XG to sync correctly, also keep in mind 1080p will require a great deal of tweaking to resolve 1080p acceptably.
If you plan on running 1080i as an interim solution you might consider an X-Vue Box 1040 or Box 1040 Lite or Crescendo-Systems RTC2200. It would allow you to run component from your Blu-ray player to the XG and also give a nice black level boost that some say the Moome lacks, you do however loose the upscaling capability of the Blu-ray player for SD-DVD’s. Then when the HDFury2 is available you can add it to your system and still use the Box 1040 for gamma boost. Below are a couple of shots I took with and without gamma boost from an X-Vue box.
With Gamma Boost
Without Gamma Boost
