|
|
Hi,
I recently bought a new VGA - BNC cable. High Quality and very short 30cm:
Specs:
The Extron SYM BNCM Series cable assemblies utilize Extron MHR-5 Cable terminated with five, color-coded male BNC connectors on one end and a 15-pin HD male connector on the other. The SYM BNCM Series cable assemblies are ideal for connecting a computer-video source to a projector or other display device.
Features
* High performance cable designed for transmission of computer-video
* Utilizes Extron MHR-5 Cable
* Smaller diameter, more flexible, and easier to pull than regular coax cable, improving ease of installation
* NEC CL2 rated, non-plenum cable
* Terminated with five high quality 75 ohm BNC male connectors at one end
* Terminated with a high quality molded VGA male connector at the other end
* VGA shell grounded for ESD electrostatic discharge protection
* Injection mold with overall foil shield for improved EMI electromagnetic interference isolation
But when I connect this cable to my moome box and my projector I get no image. I do get an image when connecting my old 1.8m cable.
I already switched the HV sync, but this didn't help.
When using a multimeter to check the pinout fo the cable I get identical results between de old 1.8m one and the new 30cm cable.
Is there something I am missing? The cable is supposed to be terminated with 75Ohm connectors. Is there anyway to check this?
Thanks,
Bart

Hi there
For each of the five BNC connectors, did you test both the center conductor and the outer barrel for continuity to a HD-15 pin?
And then test for no continuity between any two centers?
And then test for no continuity between any center and ground (outer barrel)?
Regards

I only tested the inner en outer BNC connection to the HD-15 pins. Haven't checked continuity between the 2 centers. Can I check if the cable is 75Ohm?
