|
|
Hi,
Since I put my BG808 on the ceiling (it was before under a table), I hear the front fan way too much.
I am considering of changing it to a PAPST or another very silent one, but I cannot found the exact specs of the fan (ref. 3110NL-04W-B50 NMB). On the NMB web site, I found very similar reference but not the exact one (3108NL... or 3110KL...). Does someone know the CFM max/min and the min/max speeds of this fan ?
Thanks

To the best of my knowledge no fan swap has ever worked out for the Barco - they put in some of the quietier fans to begin with. You may have one with a bad bearing or dirt on the blades.
I would replace it with the same PN model fan.

Bigger 120 mm fan works great also in front, but is ugly and takes some work to fit in place.
Front fan have own temperature sensing system...

That is almost ugly enough to be mistaken for an AMPRO......
except it works

Ok thanks for all your answers.
Ile, what is the model of your 120mm fan?
I have some NMB spares (the big ones at the back). Is it safe to plug one of them in place of the front one (like Ile did)?

I think it's safe, since it have twice air flow. Noise level is 3db lower and convergence tray sensing system run it with little lover voltage. Lower voltage means better cooling.
Front fan supply can drive little higher power fan easily, fet can run up to 4A load or something.
I have feeling that now convergence stabilizes faster. Crappy look doesn't bother me since my hushbox covers it.

Ok so if I understood correctly, you plugged the big fan the same way than the little one and you removed the grid, is that right ?
