I set up the system with a Blu Ray player using HDMI out of the player and DVI into a Lumagen HDP. I got the message about HDCP compliance. I am running RGBHV out of the Lumagen to the NEC XG. So I should have expected this. I don’t think there is anything I can do to the Lumagen to get around this.
What are my options? I have the three HD devices: HD cable (Comcast) that I bring in as component, A HD DVD player that comes in as component and this BR player.
I have another RGBHV module in the XG that is unused.
If you were trying to limit expenses what would you guys do? A switch, something like the HD Fury, a Moome card. I either run 720p or 1080i for my HD sources.
I also have a problem with my DVD player. Gary modded a Denon 2900 with an SDI out. I am now getting some artifacts both on SDI and component out. The component gives me sparkles.
So I am getting frustrated trying to get this set up going again. I would appreciate some advice.

Another option would be to run the component through the old Lexicon MC-12???

Mark,
Seems like the answers are pretty straight forward......unless that isn't the answers you are looking for. HDCP certainly throws a bit of a wrinkle in but it can easily be overcome.
You will get exactly what you got from the Lumagen trying to run an HDCP line into the Lumagen out RGBHV. The Lumagen is looking for an HDCP device on the output. Does the Blyray have Component out? Yes run that into the Lumagen (component doesn't have HDCP on it). You will be limited on the output resolution(maybe) on protected DVD's (literally all commercial) but can scale with the Lumagen.
A better setup would be to run HDMI into a Fury and then RGBHV out to the second input of your XG.
A possibly better solution might be to get a Moome card, put it into the XG and run HDMI direct from the BluRay into the Moome.
OR if you have the BR player running HDMI -> DVI in on the Lumagen, you could run DVI out into a Fury and then RGBHV up to the PJ, OR DVI out to HDMI in on a Moome card. The point is you have to have an HDCP revice hanging off the Lumagen's DVI out if you are using the DVI in with HDCP cevives (which your BlyRay is)
On the artifacts and sparkles, why don't you get in touch with Gary?

Terry,
Thanks for the input. You may be right about looking for the answers I want to hear. The Lumagen only has 2 component ins. I need 3 (Cable, HD DVD and BR)
I had one of those e"Doh" experiences when I saw the HDCP screen when I hooked up the BR. I knew the Lumagen did not pass digital over the analog outs. Not sure what I was thinking.
As you pointed out, there are a number of options.
I am curious as to a cheap option. The Moome card for the XG may be the best option, but costs as much as the BR and HD DVD players combined.

HD Fury is the best option at the price, and is a better option than component analog as BR and HD/DVD both down-scale over analog (IIRC.)
"Digital Til the Display" is the way the content creators want it, might as well join 'em rather than fight 'em.

I am pretty sure when i forst got my LG Blu ray player I had it connected with HDMI but set the player to output 1080i and then i set the lumagen to do 1080p out, this was beofre i got my moome card so its a bit fuzzy to my memory right now. Did you try 1080i out of your player if you can choose the output?
One way might be to go into the HDP setting for that DVI input you want to use for your lumagen, the EDID settings turn off all inputs except for 1080i, this tells your player that the lumagen accepts 1080i and should send out that and not try to send 1080p. I do beive it will work.
