I would buy one but can't think of why or when I would need it. I'm new to LC machines.

Hi,
With your machine powered off, hop up on a chair and use a flashlite
to look into the red lens - if it is red inside you already have one.
While you are at it check the green. That machine should have
come with filtered C-elements. I have a 1101 here that does, anyhow.

if you don't have a red C-element on your red tube you can not get the primaries perfect as with a tube that has the red C-element in it, reds will have a slight oranger tint to them like here.
http://www.curtpalme.com/Changing_C_Elements_Barco1.shtm

if you dont know if you have one, look into your tube when the PJ is off if the red tube looks red you have a C-element, or a red lens.

Yes, mine has colored elements in it. Do they go bad or are they just liable to get scratched or broken thru carelssness in cleaning? Are they suceptible to damage if I have to change a bellows?

On a Barco 1209s the c elements attach to the metal outer frame not directly to the bellows as in the marquee. I think the standard lens for the 1209s is an HD300. The HD-10-GT17 (HD-120) or GT-26 was an option that depended on screen size.

C elements are made of plastic and can be easily scratched or melted by sunlight entering thru the lens.

OK...Excellent...opening topic is updated and we're ready for step 2

Mail to 3M that we have reached 24 was send this morning (Europe) and mentioned that we're starting our "internal" payments today....

Athanasios, perhaps make a list of the names and who has send the money and when you've received the money.

I will just copy the order list above and post next to the name who has paid the 103 dollars to my paypal account ( nashou66@excite.com).
Once i get all the payments i will send barb an e-mail that I want to purchase all the C-elements.
Once i recieve them i will sort them out and then figure out shipping to each person who ordered, then I will send a paypal request for money for the shipping to them and ship them out once the receipt is paid.

On a side note, I am geting a set of those 9 inch sony pin out tubes from Aferg on the A site, I will attempt to do a neck bord mod to see how good these tubes are and if the mod is not so hard. they have about 3-5 full new tubes unused that they are selling dirt cheap, but how good they are I have no Idea untill i test them and that could be a while after I get them, I have to finish antorsea's CLM mods first.
if anyone else want to try them he is giving the used ones away for free before he throws them out, he has hundreds and they are getting a shipment of 100 LUGs for there simulators they work on so he needs to make room. All you need to do is pay for shipping. One of the resons I opend a UPS account . He is Orlando florida so shipping would be from there.

So now I have these last two projects to do nowe that the C-element one was a success with it being Arnos great Idea !!! thanks Arno!!!!!
