I am in exile for this week. I'll be home Monday. I have the case but none of the guts to put into it. Funny how it took me this long to get everything and the week I get it all I'm not at home to build it. LOL
Life's little twists.

Damn, that turned out pretty good. What is special about this paint again? And how much did it cost you to get it painted (w/wo/the paint)?

The car paint was $5500 the PC case was $200 plus the chassis powder coat $50.00.
The case was about $60.00 stock, before the paint.
The paint is color change. It's a couple coats of primer then an arctic white base coat (2 coats) then the lemon lime paint (2 coats) then 2-3 coats of clear and finaly a wet sanding on the clear coat to make it shine, shine, shine.

$5500 for the car paint? If the paint cost that much how much did the car prep and labor to apply it cost you? That thing better be a chick magnet.

Nope. A tree fell on this car. Total cost for paint and body dings was $5500.
It just missed having the trunk of the tree fall down on it by mere millimeteres.
As for being a chick magnet, I dunno, I haven't found any chicken stains on it yet

OK the build is going..well ok. The power supply didn't fit right so I had tu use the dremel and a pair of tin snips to make it an upside down fit. I'll post pictures later.
I'm done for tonight. More to follow.

I thought power supplies were a standard size. Is it the supply or the case?

It's deeper than standard size and a normal ATX layout.
It was my requirement that the wiring bundle come out of the left side of the power supply, not the right as the power cables would prevent me from installing any optical drives. A little snip and a little dremel work and it's in. Now the power cables sit right where I need them. Off to the side and out of the way.

Quik trip to the computer store after work will fix that.

Anyone else think that DVD drive needs to have a black inner case?

Man, that is so 1980's. You have a floppy drive. How flaccid.

Yeah, paint that DVD case - it's bugging the crap out of me that everything is all black except for that stamped steel DVD case. I can't believe you would even bother putting it together that way.
Wow, a floppy drive! I haven't seen of those things for awhile. That must be handy for copying 5 jpegs. Wasn't there one with some more media reader options or something instead of the floppy?

Hey I like my floppies. It has a USB 2.0 card reader attached :p
Ok I'll paint the DVD drive right after I make sure it works. They get upety with warenty if you paint things. This is just the test fit stage to see what need to be modified.
WANMAN: What's wrong with the '80's? I had a lot of fun and most of my cars were made then.
Now where did I put that 5 1/4 inch black 1.2meg double density drive? Maybe I should replace the SATA DVD burner with it??
