Anyone used this, or any ideas on whether it will compete well against the HD fury?

See the auction description. This is a renamed VisionFC4. Been around for quite some time.

Searches for VisionFC4 give me information like this:

The VisionFC4 is the only device I've not personally tested. However, those who have tested it who I believe are critical viewers have noted it is a little soft, similar to some of the earlier DVI->VGA solutions. The HDFury in my testing is the best of the externals (assuming observations about the VisionFC4 are correct which I have no reason to doubt which is why it is the only digital transcoder I don't own). Moome has many products, so I don't know which one you are asking about. The HDFury is superior to some and equal to others, though we still have more testing to do on this front.

BTW, if you search AVS, you will find a couple of complaints about the softness of the Vision tcoders.

Hint: never use the AVS search engine, go to google and type: <search strings> site:avsforum.com

The word on the street (ie: here and AVS) is that both versions have a pretty bad floating black level (pedistal) and that they only do SD colour space (not HD) so your colour will be off. The earlier version is also very soft.

All this is fine if you're just using it for gaming on a smallish computer monitor (the intended purpose of the devices). They weren't designed with HT in mind.

YCbCr have no color space embedded nor does RGB. So what do you mean by that?
