Hi to everybody.

I drive my Marquee at 1080i/50, both for sd and hd material and I'm satisfied with PQ. Yesterday, I tried 1080p/60 with Casino Royale on Blu Ray: the image was very nice and not so soft (I changed stock lenses with color-corrected HD 145 and maybe this help..). But, after about half hour, the Marquee begun a sort of intermittent black-out: the image disappeared and then reappeared, slowly focusing on screen. In some occasions I had to power off the projector to make the image come back.
Going back to 1080i, the marquee worked correctly.
Have any idea?

You're having HV shutdown problems. Try reseating the HDM and the daughter board on the HDM.

Re seat all the baords first off, the HDM,Focus, VIM and the CLM. Whn running it at 1080p it runs a little hotter. Some of the boards might not have had good contact and the expension form the heat may have caused an intermitten shut down. If that doesnt help it could be a bad Vim or one of the VNB's. You may also want to clean the chips on the CLM that can be removed.

Thank you Curt and Athanasios.
The problem was in the CLM, but luckily was very easy to fix: just cleaned contacts with a toothbrush, reseated the board and everything worked as it had to do.
So now I can confirm that even an almost stock 8500 con easily be sharp at 1080P...

And its birghter too, Ken explained this to me at Cliffs meet, since at 1080p all the lines are lit together instead of
one on one off with 1080i. Makes sense to me.

Glad you got it working but still clean those chip contacts too!!!!
