There's well off, and then there's rich.

I'm well off enough to blend and mod marquee's to the tilt, and have plenty of other nice toys in the HT. I have a 3rd 9500 Ultra... but picking up Cine9's for the hell of it?

I understand. But admit it - you ARE thinking at least once a day about how it would feel to be the owner of a Cine 9, isn't it? Very Happy

I admit I daydream about blending 2 of them in a few years just for kicks.

To be honest me too.... the Cine 9 seems to have the best of every projector: relatively silent as the (modded) Marquee, better dot/focus/shape control than the G90 (still above the Marquee even with Frankenyokes), better or at least equivalent BW than a modded Marquee, and also best lenses than any of them....

...BUT it is nearly impossible to find a matched pair of Cine9, let alone at a reasonable price... and in my case the increase in PQ would not justify the investment/hassle... But hold on... Justification? Since when has this crazy CRT thing been about "investment" or "justifications"? Smile

Who do you have to justify to besides yourself?
"Self, can I have two Cine 9's?" Self: "You got the money?" Self:"YES!" Self: "Then what are ya asking me for? Go buy them already!"

Laughing In the words of a famous brand. "Just do it"

Actually, I have always thought the blend setups also need a third PJ
in the middle to project 16x9 material.....!

Let's be realistic. You want a nice bright picture in 16x9 you need a stack. Make that 4 projectors. Very Happy
