Hi,
I was fault finding a problem i have with a dim green tube and swapped the neckboard cables across between green and red to see of the green tube problem followed, which it didnt , went to swap the cables back and think I might have cuased a bigger problem with the red tube.
The red tube now stays continually lit and is incredibly bright, plus it has diagonal lines across, adjusting the G2 barely makes any differences as does adjusting the gain and cut off.
The attached pic might give you an idea on what i'm seeing.
any ideas on what I've blown?

Tom,
Its a Barco D808s and I reckon you've hit the nail on the head, it was the amps/neckboards I was mucking around with so would make sense if I shorted the red board out when putting the correct cable back on.
Just a quick question, what else provides the correct voltage to the tubes? I've still got the dim green tube problem yet the tube itself is almost pristine in condition.
It's making it difficult to calibrate and set grey scale as green wont play ball

Tom,
I bought the pj early 2005 and it had new green and blue tubes then , based on average use over the past 3 years I would say 1,000-1,500 hrs all up.

I assume you've ruled out the input source.... Doesn't sound like the Green CRT is at fault with that many hours but it could be a short between the control grid and the screen grid but you wouldn't have much light output. Did it happen suddenly ? Is the Red tube back to normal now ?

Yep, I get the same issue irrespective of what source is used. I really have to overdrive the green tube just short of blooming to get anywhere near a watchable picture, even then colours are way off  .
It did happen suddenly but there was no crack, boom, spark or anything to indcate a problem that I can recall, the pic was just dim one night when I turned it on to kick in a movie.
I had a calibrator in the other night and even he couldnt get it to play properly, he said that the tube didnt seem to be getting enought power as with just the green being lit it should jump out at you, the amount of light emitted by the tube is at best average and certainly not bright and intense. Even the iris system refuses to work as there doesnt seem to be enought light emitted for it to latch onto.
He could adjust the red and blue no problem (prior to the amp blowing) but couldnt get the green to adjust anywhere near as much so I'm stuck.

Seemed to described my problem quite well, all I gotta do now is find a resonably priced Sencor CR7000

Hope is not lost yet 
got my eye on a CR70 which I beleive will do the same thing as the 7000, for a couple of hundred dollars its worthwhile trying that first, if it dont work then a tube hunting I will go.

Recently I installed BD801 RGB Amps in my Barco 1100 (purchased from Curt) after the install the green tubes was so dull you could not see any image unless you boosted G2 to max and then diagonal lines were visible. I substituted one of the original Amps for the one on the green and everything returned to normal so it would seem its the RGB amp.

Everything is pointing to that being the problem, you dont have any amps that would work on a BD808s left over do you??

Hi guyzz,
I'm totally new here.. I just received a Barco 1209 from curt and had the same problem.
The answer: Bad neckboard connection!
Curt wisely disconnected the neckboards before shipping the 1209, but dirt caused problems when I reconnected them
First I had no life in the blue and red, and exactly the same full, bright line-field with the diagonal lines (without the spooky face ofcource..) on green!.
Moving the neckboard a bit during operation directly pointed towards a bad connection: Suddenly, it came to life, showing the adjust menu.
Pollishing the pins of the tube and the neckboard-connector completely solved this problem!
Now I have cleaned all pins of all tubes and connectors: A perfect image is the result.

i can confirm that this is most likely caused by a bad video amp...had the same problem !
