Looking at those screenshots, I felt like I was seeing one of those "cross your eyes to see 3D" pictures!!

Funny you should mention that. I was going to ask if 3D glasses were required but just assumed it all is yet to be pulled together. If not...better have barf bags under the seats.
KIDDING GARYM...awesome room! I especially like the massive built in planar tweeters at the mains. Very nice. I see rooms with ceilings that high from members and it's really starting to make me hate my ranch style house.

I don't want to start a brawl on the forum over me and SDI but those screenies are from a HD-SDI modified BD30 into a VP50pro, just if anyone is interested in knowing what the source is, thats all I will comment on about that, Bob can fill in what his system specs are, he has some serious equipment
without a doubt the sharpest most detailed vibrant image I have ever seen, puts the RS2 to shame in natural crispness

Wow where do you get those?
I was all hot after CIH until I found out that many new releases have sub-titles in the black bars. "Youth without Youth" and "Vangage Point" just to name a few. This issue has me taking a second thought at the concept until this is resolved.

HD-SDI is absolutely the way to go. It is a win-win as you have a unprocessed signal to start with and HDMI is history!
Also, I just wanted to check for sure, but I ran the HD-SDI into a Black Magic HD-SDI to DVI converter and them into a VP50Pro and all is well. Might be of interest to those of you who want the advantages of HD-SDI, but don't have a scaler supporting it.

This is my one concern, So I was thinking of just getting section of screen and some how affix it to the bottom of my normal screen for movies I know have Sub Titles, maybe some sort of velcro setup?

he didn't get the one in his HT from me
that is not much of a issue Mike, I think out of hundreds upon hundreds of BD/HD 2.40:1 movies there are about 5 that are affected, Sony was said to be going to a 2.40:1 capable sub title system, also players can support moving them if studios would pull their heads from their ass
the Immortal Beloved BD release has movable subs out of the letterboxing as did the T2 HD-DVD from france
some titles that I own that are fubar:
Letters from Iwo Jima
Replacement Killers
Black Book
30 Days of Night

Obviously mine doesn't have them? The house is 30+ years old and wasn't designed with enough 'attic' to go up with the ceilings. I just like the height in alot of the rooms some members have their HT in. There's no way in hell I could ceiling mount a pj. I'm relegated to a basement HT...which is OK....
My heating and cooling bills are low tho.

Gotta love the midwest for our basements. I built my house about 12 years ago and went for 9' high basement walls, at the time was only about $1500 more and was one of the best options I bought with the house.

If I remember correctly, I think I paid around 1800 bucks. Love it.

I have 11.5 foot basement but not by choice, When digging to reach virgin soil we had to go down about 15 -16 ft!!!! I had to keep the basement floor above the flood plane level so i need 13 feet of stone to fill it, the plan also called for daylight windows in the basement up front so about 4 feet of basement is exposed. If there was no flood plane limit i was going to go with 15 foot basement ! Well all in all it was 12 G's worth of stone fill and the foundation cost went up about 25 G's !! But it turned out in my favor i guess !

You are correct, although it is not as different as the screen shots indicate for some reason.
This was puzzling me as I was very careful to not only be accurate, but the same.
I believe the difference is caused by the fact that I was wearing a black shirt when doing the left pj one evening, and then did the right pj the next morning when I was wearing a white shirt. I believe this caused the slight difference you are seeing.
I will be redoing this before actual blending.
Thanks,
Bob
