Hi

I have a Vidikron Vision 1 (9500LC) and it starts up without showing a picture.
When a good lvps is built in it works fine but I don't have one Confused
On this picture you can see the connector on the back where some leads of the lvps are connected.

I measure 0V on the HTR1 and 6,5V on HTR2 pins.
Are these 2 power cirquits in the lvps delivering 6.3V or is it correct that HTR1 is 0V?
Can someone confirm that if the 0V is not ok I indeed don't have a picture?
When pushing # on the wired remote I should see a menu I suppose ....

This Vision one was delivered incomplete, I'm looking for the IR sensors and their wires.
Maybe the IR sensors of other Marquee crt's like the 8500 will fit on this 9500LC.
If someone has some spares I would like to know Smile

Thanks

André

Be carefull measuring around those leads, one goes to the HVPS and is 390 Volts I blew the LVPS that way. I think one of the Hrt pins is the return line but not sure. Also is that connector on the back plane PCB or the Mother board I cant tell?

EDIT, I just looked in the service manual and it only says it a Heater voltage(no Value), Tim or Curt would know more.

Hello

You are fine, measure across the two pins for 6.3 vdc. You may have lost the high voltage power section; are any red leds lit in the back?

I have good working LVPS with the filament mod done. Send me an email, shipping via air will be about $75 or so.

I measured from the common ground on both pins, I suppose they both should be 6,3V.
The high voltage seems ok since I can hear the tubes hissing when powering up.
Also Reinier has confirmed that the 9500lc worked fine when the focus board and the lvps were exchanged.
On the focus board one chip had died and caused a shortcut, this chip is replaced now.
However the +15V is to high (17V) and I had to turn the heater back from 8V Shocked
I don't know if the missing heater output causes the higher 15V, maybe it's a cirquit that's connected to the 15V's source.
I've emailed Curt for a quote, maybe I can afford his modded lvps Wink

Andre' Tim means if you measure across those two pins it will be 6.3 volts or close, those pins com from the same point you measure the heater voltage P14. So I think those are fine. I quess the next thing would be to measure the + 85 volt rail. If that is down their will be no pic.

I do measure 85V, -15V, +15V, -5V and one HTR (6,3V).
Maybe some other supply is missing or a return is broken, fact is that Reinier had it working with another lvps and focus board.
Can I get a picture when the focus board is not inserted?
Maybe the focus board blew the lvps because there was a short in it ....

The thing is you hear the HVPS start up(*tubes crackling). so its not the 390v rail, Can you hear the belly fans run? those are on the 24 volt rails of the LVPS when you try to start it up and there is no pic put your hand over the openings of the focus modual and the HDm to se if its blowing air.

I don tthink it will run with out the FCM in but it will run if you disconnect the focus coil connectors on the FCM. But I doubt that did any harm.

I know of no schematic for the LVPS. If it works with another LVPS then I'd say just get a new one. I tried to repair one and its not easy, its a two or three layer board and it can short between layers and once that happens its not repairable unless you have another PCB board and transfer all the parts or a power supply that has the other side damaged and you just swap sections. I'd buy Curts.

The fans are running, I can feel the air coming along the focus and HDM boards.
On the back a green led is lit so it seems that all works fine, on the lvps (front side) no leds light up.
I'll wait for Curt's offer hoping not to have to break the bank Confused
