When my XG1350 is power up, it would take a long time to display a picture and a message of "unregistered signal" appeared in the lower left corner.
I do a search in this forum that it is similar to the problem in this thread reported. https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=9853.html
The signal path is: DVD player's 480i --> video processor outputs 720P, 960P, 1080P signal to XG135 via RGBHV.
Observations:
1) When the input signal is not recongized, I create a new memory block, and copy the settings from the old memory to the new one. It works again.
2) When I switched to the old memory block, it didn't recongize it and "unregistered signal" appeared even I switched back to the new memory block again. By chance, sometimes it recongized the signal.
3) In the new memory block, the menus, internal test patterns will be shifted to the left on the screen, and it looks like the blanking cuts off part of right side of the menu and internal patterns, but it did not affect the picture.
4) Sometimes the red led will blink and sometimes it is not. When the red led blinked, the input signal would be locked otherwise "unregistered signal" appeared.
5) I reseat the OSC and system boards but it didn't help.
6) The menus, brightness and contrast, convergence functions...etc. are all there and function if the input signal is recongized.
Read from the threads of similar issues, I think may be the OSC board is bad due to the projector is getting old.
How and where to check the leakage of the capacitors that surround the oscillator IC? If this problem can be solved by replacing the all the capacitors on the OSC board, I shall take the OSC board to the repair shop here to change them all. OR should I send the OSC board to Curt?
Thanks for help
