The PT18 part of the name refers to the size of the tube I believe. The other three digits are a unique identifier. I am not familiar with the 186 but it could have a different pin-out, different hardware or different specs basically anything. For example a P16LNP and P16LNQ are the same tube with different hardware and they are both pin compatible with the 180DVBs though they are higher resolution than the 180s. Assuming you get no further input here I suggest you contact VDC and see if they can tell you. I am assuming of course you have attempted google searching and turned up nothing.
