Hi,

I wonder if anyone may be able to help. When I try to watch a cable service pay per view movie I can only view till the opening credits stop rolling and then my signal drops out with the usual screen message unregistered signal flicking in and out as the PJ tries to reregister and then gives up.
Its only been a problem since I hooked up my RTC-2200 and my HD FURY.
I have tried to setup a new registration while the movie flicks in and out but it doesn't give me enough time to do the setup before dropping out and then back in again. I also tried setting the movie up as a new input prior to the credits finishing but it just did the same after the credits again.
I gather that the signal frequency is changing slightly after the credits as dolby or widescreen kicks in.
Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks.

Barry

Are you using the power supply with the Fury? If not, that's the first step.

Thanks for the rapid reply Curt.
Well I may have misled a bit I actully have the Fury Gamer edition which runs between a PS3 and the RTC, so the line runs directly from my Cable box to a Denon AVR3803 then to the RTC-2200 and on to the PJ via a vga cable a run of about 25 feet /8 metres.

Did you actually pay for the pay per view show?

Some/most pay per view channels have their programming in the clear for either the first 5 minutes, or till the end of the opening credits. Only when you pay will it stay in the clear.

Thanks,
It would be great if that was the problem, simple to fix. While they have recently changed the system slightly on the run up to HD the movie I was trying to view was a free one so that isn't it I am afraid. It also drops to a prompt screen to ask you to pay and I watched the movie on an lcd TV after I had the problem.
But thanks anyway sometimes its often something simple you overlook.

Need to know the resolution during the movie. If your lcd will give you that info or if you can hook it up to a computer monitor and see what its sending. So you saying it wont sync? So your saying you had the cable box hooked to the projector before you had the RTC and it worked? Does it sync to the PS3?

If you are using 1080i on the projector then make sure your cable box is setup to ONLY output 1080i or whatever your most commonly used resolution is (whatever one you have a good signal line for). You can go into the cable box menu and select that resolution only while unselecting all others. That way you will force it to output only what you need.

The monitor idea sounds good I will give it a go and see what happens, technical info is almost impossible to get from Foxtel all they want to tell you is the price of viewing package upgrades.

I dont have the facility to force a resolution with this cable box, you can only adjust the input and output type ie; S-video, component that will probably come with the new HD box when it eventually arrives.
If I still have the problem I will try it then.

Oh and it syncs with the PS3 without a problem at any resolution.

No Mark they haven't gone HD yet. They first said that they would do it in March then July now they are saying August and they still won't say how much it will cost and yes the picture still sucks.

Thanks again, to everyone who helped me sort this problem out.
It was that comment by Mark about the picture being crap that solved the mystery. The RTC-2200 doesn't like Macrovision and 576i.
Just got the costing on the HD from Foxtel and I don't like it so back to S-Video and DVD's on the PS3 for a while.

Umm, just pickup a HD-DVD player on Ebay, there's plenty of discs....although the price of players has gone UP not down.
