Did you have to replace the diode or resolder it?

Hi Robert!
Replaced it..
It was also recommended to replace the vertical stabilizer and ribbon connectors (if they are white). I guess there was an upgrade to "black" ones which provided better contact. Look for a bent or "bowing" connector. At least clean them and make sure of good contact.
I didn't do either of those because of the work involved with replacing the connector and an unavailable vertical stabilizer. However due to the symtoms it pointed more to the diode anyway.
