I ordered a red C element and three bellows yesterday, now that I know my green tube has been saved.
$50USD each for the bellows and $150USD for the red C element, plus freight.

Strange...their prices seem to change all the time. For awhile, it's was $100 for bellows. About a year ago, I ordered bellows and a red C-element, the C-element was $100 also...

well that's f*cking annoying. a Friend of mine just paid $200. for 2 bellows 3 weeks aog. It seems like their prices are more along the lines of who you talk you or what mood they're in?

I was gonna say, those prices are out of line what I paid for in the last few months. Methinks it's because the right hand isn't talking to the left, and VDC really isn't set up for small retail sales...
You totally scored on the bellows!

I'm in manufacturing, and there may be valid reasons for the price movements... VERY specialized, very vertical-market hardware such as this is often subject to setup charges, which must be amortized over the volume each time the supplier fires up their process.
If VDC just got a big contract, and ordered 10,000 bellows, the price will be WAY lower than if they are ordering 100 per month (or less often.)
The C elements are optical and require specialized handling, packing, inspection, etc, and it makes sense that they are more expensive than common sense would dictate.

They are made by 3M and if you call 3M they will sell you one for the same price = $150.

VDC is a hick pos outfit. They charge what they feel like, no rhyme or reason to them. Buy low, those bellows are about $2. cost, and they're selling them for $100. each ? Ridiculous....
If they were ANYTHING but the only game in town, they'd be dead in the water...

The lady who answered the phone quoted prices immediately, then forwarded me to the voicemail of Gina IIRC. (The "new" person quoted here.)
I DID mention in my voicemail and subsequent in-person call that I'd found her on the Curt Palme forum and that I was an enduser/hobbiest.
