Ouch. |
Clarence, I think you misunderstood. To do it with HD is a large amount of work as SC says. It was not a slam (hence the wink). Personally, I'm too lazy to put in the work to do it. You, however, have always done a good job with them and selected some very good demo material.

I hadn't powered on my HDDVD player in months... I'd forgotten how fun these demo discs were...
Like the HD demo discs I made for Cliff's meet:
I chose movies that Cliff said he liked, and since his last meet had a "gun" theme, I chose several scenes with firearms...
William's Blendzilla Meet:
(appropriate since today is Cinco de Mayo... one year anniversary since the Blendzilla Meet)...

Some other good HD demo clips:
But most the time now, instead of burning HDDVDs, I just stream the clips to my XBox360. I have hundreds of HD concert songs... that's always fun at parties.... kind of like a 9' wide HD video ipod.
The movie previews and blu-ray trailers on PS3 are pretty good. But some are overly compressed.

I got burned out on mailing demo discs, so now I just bring them to HT Meets for people to take home with them as a memento.

The introduction of "Transformers" plus the following 10 minutes or so (the attack on the military base) in HD-DVD is just the right length to do a quick demo for less technologically savvy family members.
