Hi,

I see what looks like an accessory door on the back of my 909 (near port 3). Can anyone tell me what this is used for? Sorry the attached pic is so lo-res:( Also does anyone know if an HD-SDI input card is made for the 909?

Regards,

Winslow

Weird. I have no idea what that's for. It doesn't go anywhere at all from what I can tell. My Cine 8 clone doesn't have it.

The back door has only been available on later models. In 2006 I have seen one on a NEW Barco 808 Digital, which is nothing more than 8" tubes with the electronics of the 909. I will see if I can dig up the picture.

That metal can is probably similar line filter before power input card what my BG808s have. I think it was made by Siemens.

Maybe with that door it's possible to chance that line filter box to something better (bigger)...
Or that embedding could be for some extra communication box, connectors are just under that place.

If this were a digital, I'd say it's a spot for a spare light bulb..Very Happy

Heh heh... My Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner has a couple of recesses: One for spare bags and another for a spare belt. Digitals... like a vacuum cleaner. That's funny.

I did get this response from Roland on another forum.

It was going to be for digital inputs video and data using the port three card way in. But project never got finalised.

Tom,

Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like I will need another solution for HD-SDI input.

Regards,

Winslow
