Bought a Runco 1100 last month in Germany via ebay.
It was transported on a wooden plank (pallet") and seemed to have come thru this ordeal very well.
Last week I wanted to hang it on the ceiling and while turning it on its side some fluid came out which was probably Glycol.
I turned it back on its back and found there to be some fluid under one of the tubes.
My question is : is this normal after transport and is there any danger when hanging it from the ceiling and start projecting ?

You can hang it, as the fluid will drip into the lid rather than into the set, but you really should pull the tubes to see where the leaking is coming from and fix it. Lowering the lid in 6 months and have a bunch of glycol dump onto your carpet will wreck the carpet.
Leakage in an 1100 is pretty rare. Barco redesigned the tube mounting. Fix it now..

hi, THX for the input.
It's been a week now and there is no more apperent leakage under the red tube.
Could this be caused by transport and closed again.
I ask because I'm no expert and have never removed a tube are changed the glycol and the idea of having to do so is not enticing (eventhough there are no coloured C-elements and maybe i will have to do this).
there was no leakage on the circuitboards

In March this year I stumbled across a really really cheap barco 1200, with excellent tubes.
So much for my luck.
But the tubes did leak a bit which i noticed only when I was home again and it had no colour C Elments.
At first i thought that one of the tubes did leak a bit.Not much. Nothing much to be worried about.
So as i would have pulled out the tubes anyway for installing coloured C-elements,
i had a good opportunity to repair the tubes and clean the Barco.
As I dismanteled the projector I was shown, due to the pattern of corrosion of different parts,
that it was a good idea to solve the problem thouroughly.
Actually two tubes did spill that nasty glycol!
Some drops even had made it to the convergenceboard already during transport.
The drops there have been fresh and liquid, not like the dried in stuff found in other regions.
It must have been a long time running problem that's been consequently ignored.
So it was a very good decision after all do to a thourough work on this minor leakage.
My advice would be: Do a complete repair and don't count on the leakage not showing up again.
It will for sure and it does it usually when you are not ready for it.
greetings Jens
