Yes, you can. you'll most likely need to tweak adjustments and focus, that's about it.

Can you mod the 8000 supplies to put out the higher voltage?

Hello
Earlier 8110s had 34.0kv high voltage supplies, same as 8000; what does the label say on the one you want to use? Also, Marquees with 34.9kv supplies had more xray shielding.

I wouldn't bump up the 34Kv, you're asking for trouble.. Frankly I've done direct swaps, and there really isn't any difference from what I saw.
