Hi, A newbie here. Has anybody heard of syncing 2 projectors together,( 2 NEC XG75's), for increased proformance. If it's possible, what would be the advantage aside from an increase in lumens? Thanks for any input.

Not 2 XG's but a member, can't remember his name, Smile has 2 G90's stacked. Yes it works very well for him for the reason you said, for an 8" projector an edge blend makes more sense because an XG cannot fully resolve 1080p.

For more information on that see these threads.

I have stacked my two Marquee Projectors in an over/under configuration. If you have the geometric controls you could do a side by side stack as the G90's can.
Not sure what controls the Nec's have for proper geometry when doing a side by side stack.

Now that I think about it Art S. had a couple of stacked NEC PG's years ago I think.

Anyone know what model PG's he used, I'm guessing they weren't the 10PG due to the fact that the ones he had had Runco badges and I don't think Runco ever used the 10PG

There's 2 options:

Blending: Each projector displays 1/2 the image.
Stacking: Each projector displays the entire image.

See:

Art had PG Xtras.

2 projectors wastes twice as much power as one....and one wastes plenty, they are hideously inefficient.

I cant imagine the work involved keeping two projectors aligned correctly... I'd rather just watch a movie.

It's like driving a Porsche and then complaining about the fuel consumption.

If you want to preserve energy then get a Smart and buy a LCD TV though they're are not as fun to drive or to watch either.

Athanasios,
That's the truth...I had about 10 more shots that I didn't post its just one great shot after the other. Did you see the mint (mint because it was new) Black/Gold 66 Shelby Mustang? Not a big Mustang fan here but seeing that car when it was new was really fun. Not two weeks before a very simular car got blown up in American Gangster.

Using polarizing filters u can get stereoscopic 3d on just about any 3d game for a totally immersive experience! Just make sure each projector is 90 degrees and and view through polarized 3d glasses. Actually a great setup with no flicker. Much better than page flipping.

Seriously. The sanctimonious proselytizing is really, really obnoxious. The idea that attempting to alter energy use can possibly affect the real problems in a meaningful way is utterly false, but - given that you really believe what you're saying - unless you don't use a refrigerator and live in a tiny house (to name a couple of obvious things which 'waste' vastly more energy than a CRT projector) you're hypocritical as well as obnoxious.

Everyone here knows your position on this by now, so stop shoving it down our throats. It'll waste a lot less power used by all those routers, switches, and data centers that are heating up the world to bring your posts to Curt's forum.
