My pj has this added circuit in it and I can't find reference to what it is anywhere. The small board on top of the black bracket with the blue and red wires to it:

Trigger for an electric screen or curtain control would be my first guess, where do the wires go?

They run down inside toward the rear of the chassis. There is a 1/8 jack on the rear that says 12v trigger, looks like it could be a professional add-on.

Yep - where do the blue/red and reb/black wires go. Likely some sort of control thing like others have said. It's got that white tube labelling that an installer's added for his own records by the looks of it.

Edit: Ok, it's definitely just a 12V trigger they've added. What they triggered with it, who knows. When you turn the PJ on, they get 12V out of the plug to trigger something else like a motorized screen, or turning on other devices, etc. Nicely done. I do the exact same thing to power on my hushbox exhaust system but I didn't bother with a little 1/8" plug or anything fancy.

I think Runco adds these themselves.

Yep, that is a 12v trigger as other guessed (and I would have).

These are typically used for triggering motorized retractable screens. When you power up the pj, it send a current out of there which devices such as screens interpret as "lower screen", and cuts it off when you turn off the PJ, which is interpreted as "raise the screen".

And we thought the $10,000 "runco premium" was only for black paint. Mr. Green Mr. Green

All the boards in this thing have the same serial number except for the one the trigger is attached to... it says 1134215. You think they swapped that board at runco?

It could be that they didn't want to mod each board as the PJ came in, so they would swap out the board for a modded one, then that ones board would go into the next one. Just a guess here.

That's the extent of Runco 'manufacturing'

Smile

It is indeed for a screen/curtain trigger. Or whatever you want to trigger with it.

And they add a snazzy fiber optic illuminated logo. To give them a little credit, my Runco's also came with color filtered HD-145 lenses that the Barco version didn't have.
