I've been able to set the red to line up with green with no problem, but the blue CRT is at the end of the adjustment and still isn't in far enough to line up with the green cross hairs. Am I missing something?
TIA

Actually, it's my new Cine7, but yeah, same thing. It looks like my raster shift isn't working on the red and blue tubes. The raster isn't that far off center on either, but the blue won't toe in enough. I'm pretty sure this shift and focus board was working in my 701s, so I'm not sure what's going on.

It is very strange, the digital control has no effect on the red/blue raster shift. I centered the red/blue rasters using the trim pot on the shift & focus board (which I should have done in the first place), and then was able to get through a complete convergence with no trouble. This has Runco 943 firmware in it and its very different from the menu's I'm used to with the 701s, but at least everything now appears to be working.

You can fake it that way no problem, but there's most likely a problem on either the focus/shift board or the deflection board. Are the black jumper wires running between the deflection and the shift board? Those are the shift wires that feed signals back and forth for each color.

It must be the drugs I'm on. I've read through this twice and it sounds to me like he's physically not toeing in the tubes but compensating with the electronics

Of course I'm toeing in the tubes. I just couldn't get there without the raster shift.
Curt The black jumpers are there, the trim pots on the shift and focus board are effective, it's just the digital control that does nothing. I'll try a spare shift and focus board, maybe an RCU too.

if you get no I2R error codes, then the RCU should be 'seeing' the Barco electronic pot chip, so the problem should be (famous last words) on the output side of the H shift.

After playing with the digital control for raster shift and doing some before/after crosshair comparisons, I can now see the digital controls do influence the raster shift. I'm sure I remembered it being much more obvious on the 701s, but maybe its in part the way I'm controlling the PJ. My newer set won't work with the old remote, so I'm using a laptop, and its very slow to accept keypad entry via serial. That and the fact the the control is very fine makes it impossible to see the raster move as the button is pushed.
Anyway, I set the digital control to 50%, then trimed it with the pots to center the raster, then did the toe-in on the tubes and everything is ok. The digital control for raster shift still seems worthless, the range of movement is very small so maybe there is a problem in the chip and it's not covering the range it should.
