I've been told that any DVI to RGB converters are substandard in their video conversion to VGA output because they utilize an 8bit chip, and are limited to that by the DVI standard, but a real HDMI to VGA solution should allow true 10bit video processing. Is this the case ?
If so, what should I be replacing my HD Gamer Edition with that will be full 10bit VGA output capable ?
Also, what's with the 1080Box caveat that its HDCP "compliant" and won't output anything if there is an HDCP encoded signal ? Does this mean its useless to us for converting HDMI output from BD players for display on a crt projector ?
I hate it when important issues like this are purposely clouded by sellers...make it plain english...

Also, if I'm talking through my hat, let me know...

I guess this means you are not interested in something like Moome's new XG HDMI card? I believe that will be 10 or even 12 bit?

I'm not a fan of the "solutions" that are restricted to one platform. I have a couple of XG's right now, but also a Marquee and a presentation monitor, and a Marquee, so something that covers all bases is more what I'm interested in.

If it was an input card for an NEC ISS, that would be different...
