Like the fish that was the size of a G90, but broke the line and got away. Maybe he'll come back with a few the size of 1271's or D50's

Sorry I'm not a expert like you. I stated the dvd player & sat box used 5 rgb which they do. Hopefully I can figure this out now and I won't bother you again.

Hi AC/DC, no need to get angry...we just are trying to help. All they were doing was trying to find out what your source equipment was. not many dvd players have RGBHV outputs, most have component . Dont get discourage there are alot of bright and smart guys here who spend thier time on this site for one reason, to keep the hobby of CRT alive. Relax a bit and I hope the next time you need help there wont be so many misunderstandings.

No bother. We (I) love to go off topic. Please ask away with your question's. We sometimes take the long way 'round to answering them but eventually you'll (somtimes) get your answer.

Well I tried a new switcher box, and a new IFB board in the projector. Same results, Blue tube barely lit,or not working at all. Test pattern it lights up.
Guess I'll be looking for a new pj. I don't know how to replace a tube, and I'm sure a new 1272 would be cheaper than paying to get it replaced

AC/DC,
If the test patterns look fine then there is no problem with the Blue tube. The problem you are seeing can be the result of
* The source device
* Cable from source device to pj (or switcher if used)
* Switcher problem or setup
* Cable from switcher to pj
* input card problem
* problem in pj after the input card
If you can verify things are good at each stage, you should locate the problem.

From your level of technical ability I'd say you should give it a go, at least some more internal trouble shooting.
It could also be the neck board ( circuit board on the back of the tube ) or the blue wire connection inside the projector to the neck board. Are you comfterable with a #2 Philip's screw driver? You could do a little checking. It's not that hard to poke around in there. Just remember not to turn any pot's while you're in there.

AC/DC. You misunderstood the way I was saying what I said. I meant it in a good way. Just for future reference. It helps to explain with as much info that you can give. I needed to clearly understand your signal chain to give proper advise. We can start from here if you want. Hows your progress?
