Except for the glycol swap and the widescreen mod I'm not sure what else was done. But when I bought it I was told some parts had been modded. I'm guessing this was stuff like replacing old caps.
Try swapping the red and green RCA cords on the VIM and see if the problem moves to the red tube, my guess is that it will and the connections will need to be cleaned and possibly resoldered to ensure they continue to work correctly.
As far as it not scanning on resolutions higher than 1024 I'm assuming you're talking about the right side of the picture being cut off, to fix this you will need to get the powerstrip software if you use a PC or a scaler if you use other sources, also changing the retrace may help with this problem.
Good Luck,
Erik

Your guessing right! It tend to works now, when I'd move or swap the inside RGB cables.
I'll replace the 3 cables in a near futur. Oh ok, you tend to say that the problem is probably the mini RCA (cinch) sockets on the rgb board then the cable, isn't it?
The caps, what is it exactly? capacitors where?
Hum interesting, a scaler?
One of my sources: MOTOROLA HD RECEIVER: 1920x1080@59.94 HDMI OUT with HDFurry
I remember now, the HD modif to be able to scale down the vertical to 16/9 ratio.
