Damn...I was hoping that was it.
I would contact the seller, I feel the projector was misrepresented. The listing does NOT say the projector was broken. Ebay rules are very clear in these cases.

I did contact him and he said that because he said 'sold as seen' he is covered and will not accept returns, when I mentioned about reporting him to Ebay he just said 'ok'

"sold as seen" and "sold as is" is two different things. The former showing the state of the goods by pictures (that clearly shows a mint unit) in the ad and the later is covered when it comes to the state of the goods.
You can tell him that he is not covered. If he refuses just report him.
