Hello
Is the image rolling? Push ** and see if a value for the vertical rate is shown on screen. Make sure your cables are secure.

it helps to put your location in your profile, at least the nearest big city. Someone nearby can be the best resource for CRT help.
AFA your problem, sounds like a Video Input module, or VIM. They are cheap and plentiful at 50 bucks a pop for the old 8000's. You might want to check a few things though, like when you push the # key do the internal test patterns come up? If they do it would point to the VIM again, if they do not then possible control module/deflection processor problem.
Also, if you have the optional S-video board this is a good time to see if that works.

I do have a rolling screen. Is it possible that the HDFury is the problem?

Hi aztec
Simplify your inputs as much as possible. Take the Fury out of the loop. If you're feeding through a switching AVR take that out of the loop too. Basically get it down to a basic input schema. If you have a laptop and a breakout cable (5 BNC to VGA), that would be an ideal way to get down to basics. Don't expect any great pix out of it tho. That isn't what you're looking to prove.
I get VSync Out of Range when I'm messing with my scaler and choose a resolution not supported by the projector. Are you using a scaler? Did you change anything since the time it worked?
I don't know how comfortable you are with doing so but pulling the CLM, VIM, HDM, and FCM cards and reseating the chips (CLM) and cleaning all the connectors and card edges/pins is a good place to start and builds experience and establishes a comfort level working with things under the hood.
When you remove the VIM watch out for the 3 mini coax cables plugged into the board. They aren't long enough to pull the module all the way out. There's a cable for each color, RGB and have to go back in the same place they came from. Don't pinch them when reinserting the module. You'll have to work them to the side when sliding the module back in slowly. It's easy for the cables to hang up on components soldered on the board (caps) so just watch for that.
My $0.02 (current rate of exchange=worthless)
