Hello everyone.

I am setting up a Sony 1042Q with a 72" screen, but it seems as though I do not have the correct CRT spacers.

The set was previously configured for a 100" setup, and focused fine, but was not able to use the full tube face area (the rasters for the Blue and Red tubes were off center). With the stepped lens rings rotated to the 72" settings, the tube usage is much better, but I cannot get the Blue & Red tubes focused correctly. The center will focus fine, and I can focus either side fine, but not both at once.

Interestingly enough, in looking at the manuals for the 1042Q and the 1031Q, I find that they seem to show different setups for the 72" size. My 1042Q has the dog-bone shaped spacers behind the center CRT, which the 1031Q manual does not show. It also only has one spacer (or wedge) at the bottom of each tube. Regardless, I believe I need different spacers for outer tubes.

Does anyone have any of these 72" spacers, or know their dimensions? On my Ampros, this adjustment was as simple as losening a screw, swinging the CRT/lens assembly, and locking it back down. I could guess with washers here, but I would have to keep taking the lens block off to adjust it. Sad

Thanks
- David
