Backlit crown molding
Title:
Backlit crown molding
Description:
Backlit crown molding: Simply buy the finger-jointed crown. Paint it. Mount it to a blocking. Leave about 1 1/8" clearance. I didn't like the idea of raw Christmas lights. I used the light ropes which are basically a string of lights molded into clear PVC. You can get other colors if you want. This is one you have to plan ahead for. You need to have an outlet up above and behind the crown somewhere.
Note the flat wall paint and the high gloss molding. Cool contrast!
