Any video Converter? Haven't used in years, but worked on translating anything I was converting <aka:porn>. Wink

Kidding, I had a camera with video function that recorded in an annoyingly long <memory eating format when it mattered> that I had to convert to MPEG4 so I could keep taping my sons jolly jumper antics and such. It converted pretty much anything. I don't know if it's current version does... or will do what you want, but worth taking a peek at.

Funnily, it might have been AVCHD or whatever I was trying to convert out of. Sounds familiar anyways. lol If it is "that format" I hope you have enough memory. so annoying. Even effing quick time was better than that.

It's late and I'm not looking for it, but it spells out somewhere what formats it will translate and I only had the free version which did what I needed. Hope it helps.

Demux transport stream (m2ts) to program stream (mpg or m2v), then drop that file into Handbrake. Make SD AVCHD file from Handbrake.

Should be able to find a simple app to demux. Some kind of MPEG toolkit. Sorry - not up on windows utils.

If you want a DVD that will play on a standard DVD player you need authoring software.

Used AppGeeker for ages for burning dvd's, never had a problem with it

Thanks guys but I never did get it onto a disk. Fortunately the OPPO 93 played the M2TS stream right off the USB stick from a class 10 SD CARD. Strange though. The audio was still problematic. It would not fire every time. It was fine once I set an A-B loop on the player.

I'll get back to making a proper 1080P AVCHD bluray formatted DVD+R eventually.

Same post as in the BluRay ripping thread...

Well it's probably overkill for what you want, as I've become the designated family videographer (have done 4 family weddings now), but I use Cyberlink PowerDirector for all of my video editing and disc creation.

If you've got someplace you can upload the file to, I can download it and try to see if it will do what you are looking for.

All of these options should be able to convert your M2TS file to AVCHD format for burning onto a DVD. However, it is important to note that the conversion process may take some time depending on the size of the file and the speed of your computer.

Oddly enough the user who posted recently above hasn't been back to edit their post. Their spam machine must be in for servicing.
