last nite, I enjoyed it but its basically just GOODFELLAS. IMHO. I expected something different from Scorcese.

It mostly made me want to have a few Quaaludes.
A little less blood than GOODFELLAS. I liked the movie, but didn't think it was earth shattering or anything.

I know, that almost killed me I laughed so hard. I guess that's one of the behavioral aspects of the movie that the critics hated. WOWS did really make a lot of bad behavior look like a heck of a lot of fun.
Have you seen Limitless?

We saw this on a screener copy back last December around Xmas. Invited a couple friends back to our place to watch on the big screen. Holy cow...I just saw it again recently.
What amazed me the second time was the lack of shock in myself. Somehow, it all seemed "okay" or at least familiar.
The book is highly recommended. Many fascinating extra details behind the whole story (i.e. John Hannah later worked for Belfort).
Funny stuff about the screening for bankers on Wall Street. Apparently they liked it very much:

The kind of "play fast and loose with other peoples' money without fear of consequences" culture that exists on Wall Street is exactly why the market crashed in '08/'09. Until that culture is rooted out and the financial sector gets back to being what it should be - a service industry - we will continue to see problems.
I enjoyed the movie though, it was an interesting look into a morally bankrupt section of our country.
