Not sure if this is the right place or not, but, I am looking for recommendations for software to burn BD-DVDs. My main goal is to burn iso files onto BDs. Finally, just purchased a Pioneer BDR-209DBK unit.

Thanks in advance.

Whats the program I use... You have to pay for it but I felt it was worth it... Oh!!!

Pinnacle Studio (I use version 16, it may be newer now.) Well worth it, I even used it to turn some 720p TV shows into HD DVDs using Verbatim Dual Layer DVDs, gives the Toshiba HD-XA1 a use again!!

The one thing I don't remember are the input formats allowed though, its been a while since I've used the program. So it may or may not allow iso input

I'm sure you know, but XBMC plays iso so there's no reason to burn at all. I love that player for being so graphical and with its auto downloadable subtitles. Unless of course you plan on using them with a stand alone player..

Don just wants to burn full 3D BD ISO's to a disc. He has plenty of options already for playing back discs with the Dune and Oppo players.

Don, just use Image Burn (free) or Nero (expensive, but nice).

+1 on imgburn, its not as detailed of a program for making video discs of any kind, but it is one of the most versatile programs out there for ISO burning, and its free!

Craig,
I'll try the image burn. Don't need any fancy editing stuff, just copy ISP files to bds.

Thanks!

Ok, so I am trying the imgburn. So i do not waste any BD discs, I am trying to copy iso files to some regular DVDs. The file size is way under the DVD capacity.

I have tried 4 discs so far. None of them have completed. They all get about 80-93% done and then just stops. And I mean stop! My PC gets locked up, cannot open or close any program and have to do a power off via the power button.

Any thoughts or ideas? I checked some forums regarding imgburn, but no help.

Thanks!

Also, any other recommendations for software, even if it costs?

Ok, so I guess the BD burner or imgburn doesn't like DVD+R 2.4x discs. Yes, these are old..............

I was able to burn on newer DVD-R 8x disc no problem.

Will try some more and see what happens.

Did you tell it to slow down to 2.4x? I've had programs try and burn 2.4's at 8x which, of course fails.

Naw, I let it burn at "Optimal" speed. But, I have been successful in burning a bunch on the DVD-R discs. Getting ready to try a BD. I will try to manually tell it to slow down for the old DVDs and see what happens there.

Thanks for the tip.

Imgburn works fine with my 2.4x DVDRW Dual Layer discs, I just do as AR says and set the speed to what the disc can do, sometimes a bit slower (it actually does make a better burn at slower speeds, just see how even/consistent the burn is on the ink side.)

I know some discs are very picky on using "auto" speed settings. But ImgBurn will burn to any speed disc, I can attest to that.
