On the main site there is a menu for troubleshooting tips for each brand of CRT projector, but only the Barco section is uploaded. I think it would be very benefical if they all would be uploaded more or less. I see in the CRT forum that usually the same 20-30 problems turning up over and over, and we always tell the same things, at one point this is getting very tiring. Of course on the other hand the Op. should do a search if his/her problem was already solved earlier, before opening a new topic.
I think there are plenty of knowledgeable people here to put together these know-hows, so it shouldn't be only Curt's duty. Also we should remind posters to do a search before posting.

The Barco tips (IIRC) are very technical in that it helps you troubleshoot which board may be bad so that you can send it in to Curt for repair. This saves some back & forth with customers always asking the same questions.
Now, I'm not sure if there's much business anymore with CRT projector board repair other than with maybe the highest end models.
I know that Curt eventually wanted to get back to update the Troubleshooting Tips for other models, but given that there seems to have been little interest over the years (and less and less each year), I'm not sure it's best place for him (or anyone else) to focus efforts. While many people can supply information, it still needs to be vetted by Curt and then massaged/organized/published/etc.
Searching before posting is an age old problem. There's no way around it. Anyone who doesn't search first isn't going to read rules about searching first. What some forums do as you're typing in the problem in the subject line is do a search for you to see if there's any similar threads. That's not something that our (older) forum software supports. If I look at the CRT PROJECTORS forum here, few of the questions are repair/failure type questions however.

Maybe it would make things easier if we asked Mike Parker if he has a cleaned out, complete version of his performance mods for the Marquees.
I do not want to call any of you guys to do this for me, but if Mike has this things maybe already assorted and in an latest version, it would not be too much work
to implement these on the main site.
I'm not asking for anything, just in case it is not much work, it would be a benefit for many of us. I asked Mike myself via PM, but seems that he hasn't visited the forum for quiete a while.
Hope he is well and healthy.
Thank you!
Regards Julian
